WILL CHILE'S LEFT SUCCEED

During The Nixon administration secret missions were underway in Chile to undermine President Allende leftist government, so we find that today a possibility exists that Allende's dream for Chile will come true.  Partial results show Lagos the leftist with a narrow lead.  Late Sunday the partial results with 50.63 percent of polling stations counted, Lagos, of the center-left ruling coalition, had 51.37 percent support to 48.63 percent for Lavin, the more conservative candidate. Neither candidate would comment on a report of over a dozen arrests of former policemen and military men since Pinochet's arrest.

RUSSIAN ATTACKS IN CHECHNYA

Russia's unrelenting attacks continue in Chechnya but Moscow seems to be suffering on the propaganda front. Even Russians are doubting the number of casualties claimed by Russian officials.  Cheechnya guerillas are attacking successfully outlying cities some distance from the Capitol Grozny. Guerrillas seem to be able to move about easily and reports are being received that the best guerillas are being pulled out of Grozny for other missions. The future of the Putin Regime will be tied closely to the Chechnyan War affecting the outcome of the election on March 26.  If the Russians suffer reversals in Chechnya then Russian public opinion could quickly turn against Putin, and kiss that election goodbye, if he doesn't take power anyway. Westerners are quick to believe that the Russians play by the same rules as the west, no way is that true. The under reporting of casualties in Chechnya can be a deathkneal. Some reports are alleging that the earlier bombing of the apartments in Russia were committed by Russian intelligence agencies as a reason and pretense to attack Chechnya.
