PEACE IN THE MIDDLE-EAST

In The Beginning

The discovery and importance of oil in the middle-east quickly put them on the map of an industrializing west hungry for oil. The oil enabled the west to expand its industrial dominance while maintaining British-American gunboat diplomacy.  Later the Arabs would be absorbed into the world financial system by receiving credits at western banks for their oil.  I describe Israel as a static Aircraft carrier used by the west to continue the oil flowing to the west. The Zionist movement was a means to create the state of Israel and as a means to insert western dominance into the region to maintain a balance of power between rival Arab countries. Today the problem of weapons of mass destruction has modified the balance of power in favor of the Arabs. particularly because of Iraq's and Iran's rapidly expanding capabilities.

Two Mistakes - predicable results

Two mistakes occurred that resulted in war middle-east. First Arafat made a mistake in not accepting the final peace proposal offered by The Barak government, secondly Ariel Sharon was elected Prime Minister on a wave of defensive emotionalism. The hardliner Sharon government has not brought peace to Israel, and has pursued an aggressive policy of the disruption of the Palestinian's Command and Control through such techniques as the assassination of key Palestinian leaders. Sharon's government has been more dedicated to expanding Israeli land claims and not in giving anything to the Palestinians. Since  Sharon's election and takeover there has been no extended period of peace. Financial interests continued still by remote control of "The City" are far outweighing many other factors, the Dead Sea contains valuable mineral deposits and the likelihood of undiscovered oil is real. In addition Israel without the West Bank is a small country.

Intifida Origin

A white paper entitled "US-MidEast Policy and the Mitchell Committee Report" - by Henry Siegman dated May 11, 2001 appearing in the C.F.R. internet publication area stated the following:

"Beginning of article quote"

The Mitchell Committee's finding is corroborated by no less an authority than Ami Ayalon, the former head of Shin Bet, Israel's legendary security organization. In a dramatic interview on Israeli television on April 30, 2001 that startled the Israeli public, Ayalon stated that the intifada broke out not because of perceived deficiencies in Barak's proposals, but because by then Palestinians no longer believed that Israel would ever deliver on its promises and end its occupation, no matter what Barak or even Arafat told them. Violence erupted, Ayalon said, because Palestinians are in a state of despair, "and are saying 'We will reach our goal in another way.' "

........end of quote"

Even more startling was Ayalon's assertion that the Palestinian Authority had in the past arrested thousands of Islamic Hamas militants opposed to Israeli-Palestinian peace, and had killed and tortured many of them in order to insure Israel's security. He said Palestinians did this because of Israel's assurance that such measures would help them reach their goal of a Palestinian state next to Israel. But it was a promise that was never kept.

The implications of Ami Ayalon's truth-telling are far reaching, and no one in Israel or the US has even begun to think about them seriously. But this much should be obvious: Sharon's policies, designed to increase Palestinian despair and crush all remaining hope, were a prescription for increased violence and terrorism, an outcome that now current US policy can not countenance. It is time for a change in that policy.

U.N. and E.U. SHIFT

Recent policy statements made by the European Union and the resolution passed by the U.N. security council demonstrate overwhelming that both the U.N. and the E.U. have withdrawn their support of Ariel Sharon's policies and that the Sharon policies will result in U.N. peacekeeping forces occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip which will deny Israel outright control of these lands. Sharon has done more harm than good and now more moderate solutions must be implemented.

Now some closing statements.

"Know Thy Self"

"Know Thy Thoughts"

"Know Thy World"

The first "Know Thyself" was a saying used by Socrates to teach. This saying helps one to understand their own personality and character traits so that one might be able to reform those negative traits.

The second, "Know Thy Thoughts" denotes a process of being able to observe ones thoughts as they are unfolding and how those thoughts mold one's actions.

The third "Know Thy World" is a journey of discovery of worldly things. We should endeavor to discover those systems that control us through a systemized state of debasement.

In the end we must expose and reveal truth, so we might speak for freedom, a freedom built up by a belief in God, humbling oneself, bending thy knee to a higher power and redirecting of one's soul in a new direction where worldly things are unimportant and Godly things the only path, the only way, the only direction.

In Closing remember these words:
